Twitter Was Offered Half a Million For One Advertisement!

twitterIt is a common fact that the sole income of many social media networks is advertisements, and Twitter seems to be taking the lead. Twitter was offered $500,000 for one single ad for one day on its pages! uSocial made this offer to Twitter, which is another social media marketing website. Twitter was offered half of a million dollars to host a single banner on their pages for only one day. uSocial explains that while it may seem like a large amount of money for one single advertisement, they felt that it was worthwhile.

Right now, Twitter does not have any type of advertising, which is something that would directly affect the users of this website. This may be one of the reasons that Twitter is so wildly popular as an iPhone application and otherwise because many social media users don’t appreciate being barraged constantly with advertisements. However, there is another side to this coin because the reason that many of these websites can remain free to users is simply because of advertisements. One of the founders of Twitter did reveal that he feels that this website could get the most value out of mobile platforms, but they don’t want to shift the focus of the website to making money just yet.
