My wife has been wanting to get a puppy for quite some time, and I finally gave in because I thought it was a much better option than a cat. The reason I had been holding out for so long is because I love the larger breeds, and we are currently in an apartment so I knew there was no way that I could get the German Shepherd that I wanted. When we finally decided to go down puppy road, we spent tons of time looking up ideas on my iPhone. We finally settled on a Chihuahua or Chihuahua mix because several articles said that they do well in a single dog home and in smaller spaces.
The only catch is that although our Chihuahua/terrier mix is incredibly cute, she is still keeping us up all night because she doesn’t understand to respect the fact that we are sleeping. I assume it is like having a brand-new baby, except you can’t leave your baby in a crate all day when you go to work! I feel like this breed will be perfect for our life and our apartment, once she settles down and starts sleeping more. I still have to train her how to be a menacing guard dog though…
