I Hate the DMV

by Marvin on June 3, 2009

I tell you what, no matter what city or area you live in, the DMV is always a nightmare. Firstly, all of the employees there completely hate their life and are sick of dealing with idiots, so if you happen to have any questions at all, then you are completely out of luck. Secondly, I cannot tell you how many times I have waited for at least an hour at the DMV, only to find out that I did not have the necessary paperwork for my transaction, so I would have to come back another day and wait in line again.

The DMV actually reminds me more of Ellis Island because there always seem to be people sleeping, coughing, and babies crying on the floor. What gives? My only solution so far has been to bring my 5th Gen iPod with me so that I can watch a movie that I downloaded and pretend like I wasn’t wasting hours of my life in a horrible location. I would recommend it to any other people faced with the daunting task of waiting for half of their day at the DMV to do the same because it really is the only way to keep your sanity and zone out. It worked for me!

Man this is hillarious, but the pragraph is so true. I accidentally parked on private property near the DMV so that I wouldn’t have to walk 5 blocks to wait in line for an hour. So I decided to park and get a ticket, walk out and move my vehicle so that it will ot be towed. I walk out 5 minutes later and the bitch is gone……I ended up paying 200.00 to get it back. Wait for an hour in the building, and then I was told I didn’t have the proper paper work because my insurance company hadn’t sent my info through the computor yet, and the lady who helped me out was a trainee……….

Oh… i hear you man. Check this out. I dropped a grand to get my license back (old tickets) but on that day… Hillsborough county, FL was on a furlough (half staff due to low budget) So i waited…. for 3 hours. Got my D6 clearences, showed proof of insurance, asked if i could get my tag renewed as well… “I’m not doing that because there are a lot of people and we need to keep moving.” I’m like whatever… i’ll go to the dmv and show this and be all good. NOPE! I get to the dmv, show my stuff… i have to take a 12 hour ADI course. No prob, 101.59 dollars with a 35.00 overnight shipping charge. They never sent it out, so I asked for a refund for the shipping. a 20.00 dollar service fee was applied so I got 15.00 back. Lame. So then I finally get my paperwork… go to the dmv, after all… they said those three papers were ALL i needed (after 5 days of fighting with them) now… apparently I have to obtain the pink copy of my SR22 which takes 30 days to show in the system!!!! All the while, I applied for a job with a place i use to work at, i need a valid DL to work there… got the job and lost it, because the dmv raped me with no lube, and wouldn’t give me the correct documentation to get it fixed. Thanks Florida!!!!!!!!!!!!

The DMV is the worst! By the way, I have to give a presentation that concerns time management and I would love to use that picture. Did you take it yourself? Anyways, I didn’t want to take it without asking. Please email me.

Man i know exactly how you feel and i chuckled at the ellis island comparison… I am 19 and am currently at my dmv which is a good twenty minutes away from my house… It sucks its four am and came in hopes that i would finally take my drivers yest… As of now there is a line that extends behind the dmv as i am apart of this line… There will be a cutoff and i can only hope that i have not wasted three hours.m tje thing is if i do not get in (seeing as it is now 6am) does that mean i have to be at this place by two to assure myself in!?@?@!@?!? i seriously do not hope i camp for a good six hours i f i do not make it in tonight… I hope that u kids learn g
my mistake ny either getting here early or not at all… And if you are younger than 18 there are plemty of ways to get ur lisence that will avoid the dps or dmv for the most part

Heh get this. I went through drivers ed after paying for it out of my own pocket in high school instead of buying an Xbox 360. after completing drivers ed (what a relief) the school gave me my certificate of completion a copy of it and an insurance premium. scheduled my road test and failed. scheduled it again (keep in mind there 3-4 weeks wait) and failed. frustrated and aggravated i scheduled it again. went to the location and got sent back home because I DIDN’T HAVE THE COPY OF COMPLETION…. scheduled it again and what do u know my insurance premium is missing ofcorse. so now i must wait 6-8 weeks for the paperwork to be mailed to me from Albany NY…. i live on long island NY. about a 4 hour trip so why in gods name does it take that long. only to get denied because apparently someone didn’t put it on record i completed drivers ed. so now im out 400 dollers (for drivers ed) waited forever for nothing, took drivers ed like an idiot to end op taking the 5 hour course and losing my insurence primium. THE DMV IS OVER THE TOP.

DMV are bastards November 5, 2010 at 11:34 am

i went to the DMV for the second time today. I had to walk 2 miles in COLD rain. This is no joke. When I get there they fat whore at the counter told me that I needed more documents. Well, I brought my Medical card, DL, SS Card, old mail, Birth Certificate AND a W-2. The only thing I didn’t being (A utility bill) was required. Mind you I already have a Tennessee Drivers License. These bastards are just trying to make it hard on me. I know they are. I can’t wait to get my electric bill so I can shove it down that fat whores throat! (not literally) I swear I think the government makes some of these “laws” just to make it hard on us. Fuck the DMV!

so frikin true. waited an hour to know i didnt have the right paperwork for a behind the wheel test. they give me a 15 min grace period so i drive home and get it and make it back to the dmv right on time…give or take a few minutes. then the lady was like sorry you need to reschedule. it took me 2 months to get that frikin appt.

If you hate the CA DMV, and you are in California, go to Cartagz.com. You won’t have to go the DMV ever again unless it’s for a drivers license. Cartagz.com does vehicle registrations and title transfers online. I got my tags the next morning. Awesome service.

ihatebu5 March 8, 2011 at 11:06 pm

I went in today, waited for over 2 hours, to renew my tags, and the employee tells me I have to go online and pay an additional fee because Sacramento DMV suspended my registration because I went a month with out insurance. And, they still took my money for tags I didn’t receive. Those bastards.

Let me get this straight. The government can’t handle renewing my drivers license, but they can handle my health care for me?????? The other day I drove through a pothole that was nearly the size of my vehicle! If they can’t even keep the roads in working condition, how are they going to keep my body in working condition????

The waiting lines, the paperwork, the headaches, the I-don’t-care-if-you-live-or-die-because-I’m-on-my-lunchbreak government workers…welcome to Obamacare.

Shawn, whoever you are, I am beyond sorry that happened. I hope your life has been wonderful ever since then to compensate for that terrible experience!
