Oh, Vegas…. I absolutely love Vegas, even though I can only handle hanging out there for around three days. Still, once you touch down in Las Vegas on your airplane, it can get quite stimulating, and you don’t even know where to begin once you start having fun! If you are a tourist to the Las Vegas area, you may want to check out Vegas Mate, which gives detailed information as an iPhone app to work as a city guide for Las Vegas.

This app has a serious database, so you can read reviews about different restaurants, clubs, and even Las Vegas shows. If you can’t decide between whether to see the Blue Man Group, Cirque du Soleil, or Donnie and Marie, you can read real reviews from other guests who have visited the show to see what they have to say. On top of that, you can check out a number of different restaurants based on their cuisine so that you can find that thick sirloin steak that you have been looking for as a Las Vegas specialty. Overall, I have to say that one of the best features about this app is that it lets you make reservations at restaurants directly so that you don’t have to waste any time waiting for a table!

If you love your iPhone and you love Oprah, then you may be like so many other Americans currently downloading the Oprah Winfrey iPhone app. Oprah is an incredibly popular public figure, and now you can always stay up-to-date on her life through your iPhone. Many people are fans of her award-winning talk show, and her app will provide you with the opportunity to read all about her life in the Bio section.

This app also has Oprah’s Latest News so that you can stay up-to-date on the latest happenings in her life. There are videos available through this app, and you can also stay connected to her on Twitter through the Tweets section of this iPhone app. There are also a number of blogs discussing Oprah featured on this app for some light reading. Pretty much, this is an expert source for Oprah information if you just can’t get enough of her show. We all know that she is ending her show soon, so maybe this app will receive a few more regular downloads? It’s quite affordable at only $.99, so why not stay connected to all that is going on with Oprah through the convenience of your iPhone. It just makes sense!

Speaking of Puppies…

Were we even speaking of puppies? Oh, well, let’s talk about mine! Yes, I did just get a new puppy, and I am one of those people that is incredibly annoying and is totally in love with it. And why shouldn’t I be? This is an absolutely adorable puppy, and I think that everyone would agree. You can judge for yourself by the picture that I’ve shown, and I think that you will agree that this puppy is wonderfully cute.

And speaking of pictures… I cannot tell you how incredibly happy I am to have a device like my iPhone to take picture after picture of my beautiful puppy! I don’t have any kids yet, so this is as close as my mom is going to get to a grandchild at this moment. I decided to take advantage of this and send her numerous pictures of my new puppy because it is my child at the moment. Now I understand the joys of being a parent, and probably all real parents are going to shoot me for saying this, but I really love taking picture after picture of my new puppy on my iPhone! Don’t get me wrong, it is an investment to have a puppy, but I think that the cuteness makes up for it.

The Killers

I cannot tell you how much I love The Killers, the band, that is. I actually had the pleasure of seeing them at Red Rocks in Denver, which if you haven’t been there, it is an amazing outdoor amphitheater in the mountains of Colorado that is completely beautiful. The only issue is that there was a little glitch with their concert, and the lead singer, Brandon Flowers, actually stopped the concert after two songs because he apparently had a throat injury. I was really disappointed because it took me like 45 minutes to drive to Red Rocks, not to mention how long it took me to park, and then actually walk up the mountain to the amphitheater. That is a serious hike!

I was really bitter because I had been looking forward to this concert for so long, but since they gave us a free rain check ticket, I decided that I could find it in my heart to forgive them. By the time that I went to the next concert months later, I actually had a really cool app on my iPhone that looked like a big lighter that I could hold up in the air during the concert. So much more modern and cool than actually using a real lighter, and they finished the whole concert this time. Awesome.

Have you played this game yet on the iPhone? I’m a total sucker for fun apps, which is probably why the iPhone is making so much profit because people like me love downloading random stuff for like five dollars, and that definitely adds up over time. I always justify getting a new app by saying, “Oh, it’s only five dollars!”, but when I say that 10 or more times… you do the math.

Right now, my favorite new game is DeerHunter, which is just like the arcade game Big Buck Hunter that I used to play years ago, and I’m sure it is almost too old to remember. This app brings back great memories because I get to track the deer on my iPhone before I get to target it and kill it. The funny part of it all is that this probably seems pretty ironic for someone who is a vegetarian, but I love to play interactive games like this, especially those that remind me of old arcade games I used to love. It gives me something to do when I sit in my car waiting to pick my kids up from school, and hey – it was only five dollars! At least, that’s how I justify it…
